HISTORY

The concept of drums is as old as mankind. A drum is an instrument that creates sound by hitting a stretched out membrane with a type of object. (Usually drum sticks) Drums consist of a hollowed-out piece call the body. A membrane stretches over the end of the drum. Drums started back in the 6000 B.C. Drums have always been used for more than just creating music. Percussion instruments have been used ever since prehistoric times. The earliest drums consisted of fish or reptile skin. In the 20th century, everyone started to play the African rhythms. Because the beats were played more and more on cymbals, the size of the cymbals increased. As the time pasted by, the drum set got its shape it has now.
